Favia Brain Coral Saga
Hi, I apologize for the redundant posting. I have this also in the LPS forum.
I have been trying to get to the bottom of some issues that I am having with my favia brain coral. He is about 2 weeks in my aquarium at this point. I will run down the problems that I see with him in hopes that someone can tell me if he is going to be ok. 1. Have not yet seen any feeding/ sweeper tentacles 2. Is turning brownish black on the edges of individual polyps 3. There seems to be some sort of green algae growing out some of the polyps. This algae growth is also where the bulk of the brown/black color is seen. 4. The favia came from a shop that had it at the bottom of a tank running metal halides. I have power compacts that are about 4 months old. I placed the coral at the top of the reef that places the coral about 8 inches from the lights. 5. I run my lights both daylight and actinic from 2pm-9pm 7 days per week. 6. I am target feeding at night every other day with coral frenzie with the circulation turned off. 7. All tests are perfect and 10 % water changes are performed every Saturday with R/O water. Temp is 79-82degrees constant. Any ideas on what is going on with this coral? Any help is greatly appreciated. Dave
