Sump help

Ok after speaking with my lfs he was going to sell me a basic sump he found in the basement for $120 I said no

I have the old 12 gallon wet/dry I converted .to a two sided thing.anyway I am going to stop the fluval and use the old sump I had Here is my question I am going to put the twop reactors in tit one carbon one phosban? and I am going th throw a piece of rock from my tank in there

now I have a hose down Not sure why I cannot put the blue sponge it came with in the middle to seperate the sides it is the same as a sock I will clean it out once a week so what is the difference I am going to try to hang my skimmer off the side of the sump and seeif that works?

does this all sound ok?
