Awesome, never thought of that...tear out the closet and put in a tank/fish room. I keep these ideas in my head for when I retire and settle down in my own house.

What is your vision of the finished product? The simplest version of an in wall is of course a front viewing pane with all the uglies (pumps ect. ) hidden behind the wall.
I have always been fond of the look through tanks. This style requires a lot of planning and possibly a custom tank with overflows on one or both ends. Either way I highly recommend placing the tank on a 36 inch stand or higher for better viewing.

Gday everyone.
Im back again. Im living in Europe so Im in a slightly different time zone to most of you. My plan was originally between my two couches up here in our lounge room. However as much as i tried to push one couch one way and the other the other, what i wanted just wouldnt fit so i faced the music and decided against it. I always wanted a tank here in the longe room so that my hobby wouldnt have me away from my family. We live upstairs in a built out roof - very common here in Germany. We have a good sized crawl space behind where the slope of the roof continues. Hopefully you can follow. Just think of trying to fit a box inside a triangle and then think of the left over space. I was planning on having my tank room under there anyway as the highest part (or the only place i can stand) is directly behind the kitchen. Im thinking water and drainage. Our lounge room wall is fairly low. Say 125cm flat before raising with the slope of the roof. In this flat section is where i would like to place the aquarium. Just like a framed picture in the wall. The entire tank would be behind the wall, all workings. I would access from both sides and above, though above may become a little tight-shame. My daughter has just turned one year so this would be an awsome height for her as she is growing up. The tank would be at exactly the same height as the tv. Hopefully it wont interfere with tv viewing. Im looking at getting close to the 180 to 200 Gallon mark. Similar i guess to oregon reefs ideas just not so monstrous and the tank room on the same level. One problem i may have is drainaige. overflow to sump. though i guess that also means less head loss.
