In-tank Reproduction

So, coming from the FW side, I'm curious what can/does (usually) reproduce in a reef tank. I'm referring to macro organisms (not bacteria or algae). Here is what I think goes on the list so far. Please add or subtract:

1. Corals (of course - by growth/fragging, but not sexual)
2. Copepods/amphipods
3. Some snails? (not sure on this one - if so, what varieties?)
4. A few varieties of fish (clownfish, others?)
5. Bristleworms
6. Brittlestars?
7. Tubeworms?

Not sure on the last two.

Kevin

1. Sometimes, corals might be reproducing sexually in our tanks.

2. Most seem to reproduce.

3. Some snails. Stomatella, some columbellids, and Trochus, in my experience.

4. Not very likely, although some can be bred with some work.

5. Yes, many can, asexually or perhaps sexually.

6. Not to my knowledge.

7. Some tubeworms can reproduce asexually by dividing, given enough food.

Anemones can reproduce aswell. They usually clone but there are a few rare cases where they release eggs or spores and bunch of new ones appear.

I've seen pics of successful Banghai (sp?) cardinals babies being reared, seahorses, and some variety of shrimp. I'm very interested in setting up some breeding programs myself here in the near future. Maybe we should start a thread for breeding successes....lol

that would be a good idea, it would be great if breeding could be done comercially, that way the nateral reefs could get a break from being blasted and poisoned
