Sump

The more I read about sumps, the more I think I should have one, but I am totally confused with the whole subject. I have a Remora hang on skimmer on 30 gallon tank and it seems to work well. If I don't need a skimmer in my sump, would I just pump the water into one chamber, then to a refugium and then a section for a return pump (3 sections?). Can you buy something already set up for this? I have no idea how to do it myself. I've read the 3 articles in here about sumps, but still don't quite know how to proceed. I know I need a hang-on overflow box (was told Lifereef). I only have room for about 20 X 9 X 14 under my tank. Anyone with ideas about what to do would be appreciated or maybe I should just forget the sump.

I've looked there, read everything but still confused. I wouldn't know where to begin with gluing acrylic to glass and cutting notches in the acrylic.

You can just buy an overflow and sump that will fit from places like www.marinedepot.com or www.drfostersmith.com

Some hobbyist use like a 10-20 gallon tank and seperate it with glass/plexi to make different chambers. There's plenty of info on how to do this in the DYI section.
