Testing kit advice?
Any advice on testing kits? Good ones to get or bad ones to stay away from?

To Reef Central What are you interested in testing for ? I basically categorize our kits in four levels. Lab grade kits........... over 200 buck a pop. Precise hobby grade kits...... Salifert and LaMotte General results but accurate hobby grade kits like API, Elos Sera. And not so good kits......... everything else. |

I was thinking a standard kit- like pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, Oxygen. Is a reef kit (Calcium, Iodine, Carbonate Hardness/Alkalinity, Phosphate, Strontium, & Silicate) worth it for a novice to mess with?
