White pimple on coraline algae

I have got what looks like white pimples all over my coraline algae. Does anyone know what it could be?

Hmm, beats me if its only on the coraline. Any chance you can post a pic of it?

I know what you are talking about, but can't say what it is....

Sounds like an alk burn. I get that too when the tank is adjusting to alk supplement changes. They go away.

When I set up my first tank, I had little white drop looking things all over everything. I later determined they were little calcium deposits. I had used Coralife salt when I started and the calcium readings were very high (well over 500). After switching salt and several water changes later, it all went away

HMMMMM, Well, I have dosed a buffer recently AND I use coralife salt. It sounds like it could be either or. I have been using the coralife salt for about the last 2 yrs so I dont know it that would be it. My levels WERE high but as of recently they have been in the 440 range. I will wait for a couple weeks and see if it could have been from the dosing.

We have a lot of different answers here, should this be asked in the advanced topics?

Let's say we know it isn't an animal, but directly related to our CA ALK methods. What then?
