Lighting recommendation

I have a corner 93G w/ a Coralife 2X96 on it currently. Well the Coralife has a dying ballast(and I have an excuse to replace).

I want to be able to have the lighting requirements for coral and with the corner/bow front shape of the tank, I am thinking I have to go with a MH(400W 14000K MH).

What I need is recommendations for a pendant system I can hang from the ceiling, that will not blind me when I sit near the tank and can be easily lifted up and out of the way for work. I will need to buy the entire package (pendant, ballast, mounting hardware), and want to keep my glass top on the tank(I know its not the best thing, but I got cats).

Thanks -- Joe

go with an icecap. you can buy a 400w fixture, ballast, and hanging gear for pretty cheap. i definetly wouldnt keep the glass canopy on though. with that much heat coming off of the light, that glass will trap in a fair amount of the heat. leaving that glass canopy on will almost guarentee the need for a chiller. that and the glass will filter out some of the beneficial light coming off thus rendering your light useless.

Will egg crate(light defuser) work instead of the glass top or will it focus the light to much??

Depending on how the dimensions of your tank, 250W pendant may be more than enough.

Its a corner unit so the corners are 34", the bow is 54" and the height is 25"

What about a Lumenarc pendant 14K bulb with a 400W ice cap ballast(around $400). I would have to have either egg crate or netting over the tank to keep the cats out and the fish in.
