Anyone else have problems with finnex heaters?
I've been having problems with the 500w finnex titanium heaters. I have an aqua medic controller, and for about three weeks, my first finnex was working great...never fluctuating more than one degree. then...all of a sudden, a drop from 78 degrees to 70 (which i assume to be ambient temp for my tank with all the heaters/lights/etc. I returned this first one to my LFS and hooked up a new one. which was great for one day. It took the temp back up to 78...then plummeted back to 70 the next day. It will not hold temp.
When i plug one of my glass heaters into the controller, it works fine...when i tried plugging the finnex directly into the wall, it appeared to not work.... Curious to see if anyone has had any similar problems. |

try going with two heaters, one as a back up, that are a little smaller in wattage. try 2 300 watt heaters. i also use won brothers heaters and i like them, i still haven't had a problem going on 7 months. like some say all heaters are bound to fail some time or another, so it is best to be prepared.
