replacement parts for Sicce PSK2500

Anyone know what size O-ring I'd have to get to replace the one on my Sicce, BUT be a little less of a PITA to get the volute on and off and still be water tight? I broke the ceramic shaft on it because I was having to man-handle the thing too much because of that dumb o-ring! Which leads me to question #2. I ordered a ceramic shaft for a QO22/3/4000, but I was thinking a stainless steal one would be ideal if it was possible to replace it with one. Anyone know the exact diameter/length and place to order? My local hobby store didn't have any fiberglass rods that would work so I guess I'm stuck w/ this route. I'm guessing that thes SS rod would be the end-all be-all and I wouldn't have to replace it. TIA.

Oh, and for those of you that are looking to have your Sicces machined, I did mine w/ a drill press, a drill press clamp, and a 1 1/8" forstner bit. I tightened the volute all the way down and the pump started first time whereas before, the zip-ties would be too tight and keep it from spinning. If anyone's interested I have 2 crummy pics of the post-"milling" process while it's still in the press.

If you go he stainless route, keep in mind that not all stainless steel is really stainless. Specify a food grade or low carbon blend like 316L.

The ceramic shaft from the QO 3000 is going to be shorter than the PSK 2500. The motors are similar but the impeller is a little taller on the PSK 2500.

I could have sworn I saw someone do this, I just can't remember what thread it was in.

On the msx thread there's a guy using a qo shaft in his sicce pump. Someone tried the impeller earlier and it was 2-3mm shorter and didn't work.

I've got the QO shaft on order, I just thought it'd be nice to have a permanent back up that won't break. Plus I thought I saw someone that used a different o-ring that wasn't as tight.

I'm interested in a replacement o-ring as well. To get the volute cover off last time I had to gently tap it free with a screw driver and hammer. I like to think of myself as a reasonably strong guy, but my fingers just could not do it.
