Skimmer D&D Marine - Terminator II
Hello,
I'm gathering information on this skimmer because it can work without sump, but I'm not able to find information about it. You know it ? What opinion do you have ? Until how many liters you advice it ? thanks, http://www.danddmarine.com/Term2.html

You have to buy the sumpless kit for it as well. There is a blurb on it on wet web media

With the sumpless kit it is too expensive. Get a bermuda rogue HOB if you can not use a sump or a tunze 9010 and place it internally if you can.

If you have the skimmer above the source water level you don't need the sumpless kit. I helped someone set their tank up and they bought this skimmer used and was told it was used sumpless.
After going crazy trying to get it to work, I looked up the skimmer directions online and found it did'nt have the sumpless kit. We then contacted the original owner and asked if he had it mounted above the source water level, as this is the only way I could see it working without overflowing, and found out that is what he had done. It worked fine on a 75 gallon tank as long as you kept it clean, which was a constant battle. The slightest build up of scum on the top piece would drastically lower it's performance. HTH |
