Temp for RO/DI unit

I'm not sure what the water temperature is coming in from the main . I live in Tennesse and it's cold now. I'm running the unit from cold water source.

It'll just make a bit less water. It's best not to use hot water, as you'll kill your membrane. I did that by making water outside a few years ago, not thinking that the garden hose coiled in the sun would heat up and run the RO membrane. Besides, it's not too awfully cold in Tennessee right now.

Hmm, weather man is calling for 28 here tonight that's cold enough for me! I have my ro/di on line with cold supply under bath room sink and it seems to work ok. I do notice more bubbles coming through the water lately, don't know if it is because of the cold or other reason. Good to see some more folks here from TN. Happy Reefin'

Something I do is run my incoming line from my supply water through 100' of tube submerged in my sump. This brings the water temp up before it enters my RO/DI.

Reefing is'nt how long you been in it. It is how deep you get in it.

Current Tank Info: 400g display build, 300g sump, 75g ATO, 75g refug and a few more. Close to a 1000g. 200g mixing station.

We have a calculator on our website that will show your the effect of changing temperature or pressure.

Once your get over about 30 feet or so of 1/4" feed water tubing you will begin to affect the pressure reaching your RO system. That may be OK if you have plenty of pressure.
