metal halides and acrylic tanks, will they cook them?
Someone said I might have a problem with my acrylic and my halides, is this true? I plan on running 2 250 watts, I don't think I sould have any problems, I will be mounting them over the holes.

if they have enough space then there wont be a problem how close are the bulbs to the acrylic?
how thick is the acrylic?

the bottom of the reflectors are 6'' from the top. The acrylic is aout 1/3'' or so.

i have a 75gal tank guy that had the tank before me had 400w mh's on it i've had my 250w's on it not a problem

If you have a problem melting the acrylic your also going to fry your tank. They kinda would have to go hand in hand if you think about it.
