Fish not interested in green marine algae..

Bought some natural dried seaweed/microalgae by Ocean Nutrition for my Flame Angel and Tang..

Neither are interested. I've left it in for 24 hours, 3 times.. and end up taking it out (all mushy) and throwing it away before it gets stuck in the powerheads or overflow..

Any tips or tricks?

do you use a veggie clip to attatch it to the tank? if its not working, try rubber banding a piece to a chunk of live rock rubble then wedging it into your rock work. they may feel more comfortable approaching and eating from there. also your positive its dried and not roasted? it makes a big difference with my fish

My tang will tear this stuff up.He extends gills and his color increases and get aggresive. Its like a drug to him. Of course this is my experiance. If there new and not eating then could be stress.

my tang just hovers infront of it taking small bites in quick sucsesion meanwhile my harlequin grabs hold of it and tears it like a dog with a bone until he tears off half the sheet. hell then casually swim around with a massive chunk of seaweed in his mouth worrying me half to death that hes gunna choke on it. the sixline gets in on the action every so often and the clowns hang around waiting for any loose particles of it to drift by.

Your tang doesnt sound to be the boss of the tank. In many reef tanks they will be tank boss.

the tang is definetly the strongest fish in the tank but he is pretty laid back. my fish are pretty mellow with each other and i rarely see any kind of confrontation. the six line occasionaly annoys the clowns tho

I'm using rubberband because the clip didn't work the first few days.. so I tried 2 or 3 days with rubberband too, but no avail.

They love flake.. just not the nori.

And the tang is definitely not the strongest yet, but shes pretty young, and the last added.

You need to feed a mix of food.Frozen , nori , pellet , fron from cyclops ,brine , marine cusine , Ect..
The more mixed then the better change of better diet.

Oh I do.. Sorry, didn't clarify.

They eat mysis, brine, cyclop, pellet, mixed marine, flake.. I think thats everything. I always joke and say they eat like my dogs or wild animals.. but won't touch the algae.
