I believe those are only intended for outside the tank. Inside the tank I would use these:

i would say no... those things, even though they
claim to be stainless... it still rusts... it takes a bit longer though... maybe 1 week extra |

zip ties work great after hand tight use a pair of side cutters flat against the lock of the zip tie dont cut it but grab it and give it a twist and repeat when it is tight enough the tail will snap clean

Unfortunately in my application I need stronger hose clamps. The plastic ones aren't holding.
I will ask on the drsfostersmith forum if the screw and band are both stainless like these ones: http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategor...in-175-max-dia |

Try a large set of zip ties, some of them have a tensile strength well over a 100 lbs

Even better than side cutters are a pair of pliers meant for stretching bicycle shift/brake cables.

Before I knew much of anything (not that I know much of anything now) I used SS clamps in my tank. It didn't take long for the saltwater to rust them. By them time I noticed it they were completely covered in rust. Thankfully no harm was done.

I use these on my mag protein skimmer pump. very strong clamp. Home depot or Loews should have them.

The plastic type shown by masonicman work fine. Squeeze them together with pliers and they won't loosen. I used them for several years on Iwaki to protein skimmer that was blowing off when FPL started playing flicker and flash with the power. I bought them at Lowes, plumbing section. Wentnto them because SS clamps were rusting on me. I thing you must get much higher than 310ss to not rust under salt water. I seem to remember 1800ss from my boating days?

One more vote not to use stainless or any metal in the tank. I have used various stainless steel parts at the beach - not my tank - and they all rust or pit. Plastics are the way to go. They do make metal clamps covered in a vinyl product, but I do not have a link to any.

They do make titanium hose clamps if you really need the strength of a worm drive..

Do not use them in the water they will deteriorate and place metals in your tank water.

If you tell us how you plan on useing them we might come up with better ideas.
One of the problems with stainless is that it is not pure stainless. |

They are referring to the stainless ones, not the titanium ones.
