What's the better choice between the two?

There is a super long thread on here about the comparison. This is a shorter version as I went through the whole thing. The lumenbrights have to be higher off the water surface and the intensity is alot more focused in the water. More like a beam. The lumenarc can be closer to the water surface and has a wider spread

Is the mini pendant with 250 watt MH big enough to cover the surface a 24" x 20" inch frag tank? It is very shallow - only 8" deep water.

The Lumenarc mini? ... 24" x 20" is no problem. Should be able to get very good coverage of a 2 foot square.

mini is more than enough for coverage. you may even consider 150w MH for 8" deep water only.
