DI gets TDS to zero or near zero...I don't believe you can get 0 TDS with only an RO system.

Lots of places to do research but I was reading this site last night:

RO gets the bulk of gunk out of the water, and DI gets much of the stuff that remains. Some of the stuff that can make it through the RO include phosphates which you don't want in your tank, and the DI gets the stuff that makes it through. RO/DI provides good source water for a reef and I highly recommend it. The filter guys sell a good product and there are also other RC sponsors that sell equally nice equipment. HTH.

Check out other sponsors too like www.buckeyefieldsupply.com with their 75 GPD Premium system which is a bargain at $169 complete. If you are wanting the absolute best check out the MaxCap or MaxCap UHE at www.spectrapure.com .
