40 gal upgrade to 60 72 90gal?

Hi guys,

I have a 40 gal and planning on upgrading to a larger tank size 60gal.
I have heard many people say it's better to go to 90 or 100gal because there's not much difference between 40 and 60.

Please share or advise your experience on upgrading to a larger tank.
Is it better to sell my 40 gal completely and start from scratch on a new tank or transfer what I have to a new tank?

Thanks all for you input,

If you have the time/space/money bigger is always better. Your only about 6-7 months into the hobby however, In my opinion i would wait, your set up now sounds like things are going great, your tank is just getting established, hit the year mark, so many people jump into the hobby, spend thousands of dollars only to lose intrest in a year, if your bored with the 40gallon after 6 months you may be bored with a 100 gallon in 6 more months. If after a year in a 40 and your still dying for an upgrade, go for it!!

you're right, maybe I should wait for 6 more months before deciding to upgrade or not. My tank is getting better still has algae though.

Thanks,

In the mean time you have time to better research equipment, look for hot sales and check craigslist, maybe youll see an amazing deal on a setup.....never know.
