Cleaning Display Aquarium with water and White Vinigar.
Does anyone know if filling my Aquarium with water and Adding vinigar to help in removing excess algae, and other nasty stuff will have any effect on the silicon seals? I'm looking to fill it for 2 days to make it look brand new before I start anything. Then it will be drained and wiped clean with Paper Towels. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have done it numerous times with no ill-effects. Use hot water for the fill as the heat makes the vinegar work better. Rinse the tank well afterwards.

i just cleaned some of my tanks with straight white vinegar. scrapped with a razor blade and rinsed with water. i wonder if filling the tank with water and vinegar and leaving sit for a few days would have given better results. (i still have white stuff caked on the glass)

Depends on the vinegar concentration. A weak solution takes longer and heat does help.
