thanks for the clarification. That helps a great deal. So not all cucumbers sift the sand? I was looking at a cool purple/black one. Was hoping to get someting that didnt look disgusting in the tank. lol

purple/black may be toxic if they die as usually the color ones are. Get only the Tiger tail also called sand sifting cucumber there the best. They may not be great looking but do awesome job. You probably wont see it much anyway, make sure you have lots of detrius.

Oh dont worry. I have plenty to go around. The tiger tail it is. Is there a worry about it nuking the tank if it dies?

Tiger tail wont hurt the tank if it dies, like anything though if it dies and not noticed for awhile can be problems. The tiger tails are the safe cucumbers.

how many tiger tails should i put in my 220gallon reef tank?

i have a 90g and i use 1 horshoe crab(does a REALLY good job when hes not getting pushed around by the powerheads,really fun to watch),10 tongan nass.,1 queen conch,and 10 vibex nass.
