best place to buy aragonite sand?
where is the best place to buy aragonite sand? how much should i buy for a 150 gallon reef? is there different sizes of the sand? and i need something that three korilla4 powerheads wont blow all over the tank. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

Dr fosters has reasonable prices for sand. It should cost about $1 per lb and I would recommend at least 1lb per gallon. Also I would go for the fine sand, looks better IMO.

Its all about your budget. If you can get all LS then this would look much more uniform and natural besides any added benifits.
In the beginning you will get substrate disturbance but in time it will reduce and the fact the surface is disturbed means your getting good flow.Never adjust flow to tank rather adjust tank to flow.A simple HOB media filter will help collect the unwanted dust. On a side note,korolias are great powerheads but have limited control and versitility. I like Rios as they come with a flow control knob and duckbill tip for dirrection control with the plus you can do faster water changes by useing a clear tube to drain and fill with this unit. |
