Joue's Juice

My experience is that it only works temporarily. The Aptasia pop up again in the same place after a short time... Plus the $%#@ nozzle is constantly clogging, making it difficult to apply...

I have ordered Red Sea Aptasia-X (off eBay) which reportedly is a real improvement over previous products...

Good luck...

LL

what?? really??? I have used this before many times and it works awesome. I have never had anything clog, its called cleaning it after each use LOL I also never had aptasia grow back I only reintroduced it with new pieces of rock, coral etc. I just make sure that I really get the bastard good and then when he retracts back into his hole I keep spraying in there to make sure he is toast. I have not seen any small aptasia ever return after I used this product

I've tried joe's juice and I've had it spit it out onto zoas (killing them)...any way to prevent this or a different product that won't kill zoas? (This was on a aptis that was in a colony of zoas)

I also almost killed some of my frogspawn coral using joes juice. It says it is reef safe, but it really isnt. if i had a qt tank, i would put the rocks that have aiptasia in the qt tank and then zap it with joes juice

I also have had this problem. You have to be really careful not to "alert" the aptasia to what is coming. Every time i try and kill this one aptasia I have, it always closes up right before i can get the juice into its mouth. It will be "gone" for a few days but always has returned.

Boiling water works well, I've also had good luck with grocery store lemon juice. Best to use an actual syringe, such as a insulin syringe (as mentioned above) that way you're sure to get the juice into the body of the aptasia.

Another commonly used method is peppermint shrimp. I had fantastic results with just one little peppermint shrimp in my 29g nano. The downside is the peppermint will not eat off any of the larger aptasia, which are the biggest culprit for a larger outbreak. Good luck with whichever method you decide to use.

I had an aptasia ride in on a new frag. So, I read about the boiling water and also read about white vinegar, so I boiled some vinegar and shot the little devil with that. I'll let you know if it works.

Thats an interesting approach. I wonder if it will work, or if boiling the vinegar broke it down so it won't be as effective. I would think the former.

Use Blue Vet Aptasia control. It won't come back and it didn't hurt my zoas.
