Start this tank up!

Well, I had took down my tank because of the apartment. But now im settled, so i can start it again. So this is where im standing at right now. Im about to go out of state for about 1 month and 4 days. And im thinking, why not let it Cycle while im gone, so when im back it can eaither be done, or really close to being done. Anyway I have 1 problem. When im out of town, it might get salty in the tank, but there is only going to be carbon and live rock in it. (15 gallon tank) So i was thinking, could i start the tank at about 1.18 salinity, and let it go up while im gone? I was wondering if just the rocks can handle this?

Just a little side question. What do you do to lower/rise these? Got the kits, but forgot to ask what to do to lower or raise.

Calcium
Alkalinity
Magnesium
