Ro/di Tds

I have a TDS that measures post carbon/sediment/RO that has been registering about 40-50 TDS.
I have been blowing through DI filters like every 200 gals.
What should the TDS goal be for coming out ot the RO?

Sounds like your membrane isn't working properly.

Should be ~ 97 - 98% less than your tap water.

That depends on what membrane you have, and the TDS of your tap water.

We can say that your RO TDS should be 10% or less of the TDS in your tap water.

So if you tap water reads 240 ppm, your RO water should be 24 ppm or less. If you have a high rejection membrane, target a 96 to 98% reduction.

So, what is your tap water TDS? and what brand and capacity (gpd) membrane are you using?

Actually I solved the problem somehow by taking out the membrane and putting it back in. I wonder if it just wasn't seated right?

Good deal.

That's a common problem. If the membrane isn't pushed all the way in, waste water will come out of the purified water port and as you experienced, you'll end up going through your resin in no time.

Yep. The other symptom you'll see when this happens is a waste to permeate ratio that is too low.
