Question T5 Retrofit - Splash guard/cover needed?

I just installed my new T5 retrofit kit (6x54W bought from reefgeek - sweeeeeet) and it looks great! - Thanks The Grim.

Lights are 6" from water and I was wondering if I really need a splash guard.

When I had my old fixture on at the same height, there were barely any drops of water on the protective shield.

Also, let's supposed that FEW drops of water get to the bulbs. Will that be a problem?

Thanks
