Does this sound like a good deal ? $700.00
I want to know if this sounds like a good deal & is it a good setup, like is it easy to maintain. Im looking to buy this tank i found on craigslist. This is the listing & its $700.00
Moving and need to downsize. This is a fantastic deal for someone getting in to the hooby or an experienced aquarist either way. This tank will grow any kind of corals you would ever like to also including Clams, Anemones, Hard and Soft corals, etc. Essentially self sustaining, you can leave for days and let it run. Some photos: Here is the list of items included, of which I am sure I have left some stuff out: Hardware: 72G Bare Bottom AGA single internal overflow aquarium with Durso Standpipe Custom Cut White Starboard bottom Custom Aqua Wood (based in JAX) Bombay Mahogany Finish Stand and Canopy 5 X 48" normally driven T-5 fixtures with bulbs less than 6 months old purchased from Hellolights.com. Coralife SS 125 Skimmer Knop - C Calcium Reactor with Eheim pump,CO2 tank and guages with container of brand new media, never been installed. See example here: http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_Aquar...ctors_knop.html Moonlights 20 long fuge/sump Grow bulb for Chaeto or Macroalgae Coralife Timers X 2 Aqua Medic Return Pump Auto Top Off with pump 2 Hydor Koralia 4's A huge crate of dosing stuff worth $$ that includes testing kits, Kalkwasser, and a bazillion other types of magic dosing potion that I have spent hundreds on. Fragging supplies, etc. A couple random Modified Maxi-Jets with parts for more Food for all species Livestock: 1 Cleaner Shrimp 1 Regal Tang 7" 2 mated, egg laying, anemone hosting True Percula Clowns 1 Banggai Cardinal 1 6 line Wrasse 1 Large serpent star Possibly a RBTA split after powerhead run-in if they are hiding 100 lbs of Fiji/Tonga and other branching and cool liverock, with a few zooanthids spread around. You bring the buckets and be ready to haul, I will help break it down and help get it loaded for you. This setup is unbelievable when it is run and cared for properly. More photos of it in its heydey upon request. This is a spouse friendly tank as it is not ugly in any way. Photos bring out the red in the finish, it is darker in person. |

Definately a good deal. You could spend $700 for Live Rock, Sand and a CUC alone for this setup.
There may be a couple things to change or upgrade as you go but I think its an awesome way to get started. Do it before you kick your self for not and end up spending 5x that starting from scratch.
