Just try to keep it of your viewable glass, don't worry about the back glass or the equipment.

I'd like to keep it off the equipment but it's too difficult....I just let that slide.

I do keep it off all the glass though...the back included.

I use a ProScraper from Kent Marine with the metal blade attachment. I find it's not all that difficult to keep clean if I stay on top of it. Once you let it grow though, it's a challenge to get it off.

Good luck.

If you want to clean your submerged equipment such as powerheads, immerse them in vinegar overnight and rinse in the morning. No need to scrape.

I agree with the other posts.
Leave it on the equipment and back glass.
Shave it off on anything else.
Anything else woud be akin to obsessive compulsive disorder.
Let nature take its course.

I put two pin cushion urchins in my tank--they do a great job eating corraline--rocks, glass and hardware--no matter to them.

its very easy to seed your tank with corraline. Have someone with an established tank scrape corraline off the glass--quickly siphon some water and corraline out with a turkey baster and seed your tank with that.

I'm with you. I hate it. It's the only thing that sometimes frustrates me to the point of giving up on my tank.

I have an acrylic tank that's been up 5 years next month. Once you let coralline get away from you on acrylic, you've got a big problem. Anything strong enough to scrape established coralline is strong enough to scratch acrylic.

Well whene equipment gets removed for regular cleaning this will take care of that then decide your viewing area and razor the rest.Better yet shoot for pink and brown coralline which takes constant prime water conditions. Urchines will also help but its removal is just part of REEFING. Enjoy....
