I like Liveaquaria because of their 14 day guarantee, I don't know of any LFS in my area that give that type of guarantee. So, even though shipping is steep, the guarantee helps...

I have only ordered "live rock" from them, so I can't advise on their fish.
I would NEVER order live rock from them again. I ordered (2) 45 pound boxes of live rock from them and was highly disappointed in it. Like said before me -- no life -- no stentch (no die-off). It's been in my tank now for 5 weeks and still looks the same dull white color. Through-out the 5 weeks I tested for ammonia, but it never saw it spike (it actually tested zero for the entire 5 weeks). This would lead me to believe either 1 or 2 things: 1) There was no die-off what-so-ever from the rock OR 2) There was never any life in the first place and I was putting base rock into my tank. Knowing there would have been die-off from the rock (if there was anything living on it in the first place), it must mean I was shipped 90 lbs of base rock |

You might also consider buying livestock from www.thatfishplace.com. I've never bought any livestock from any e-vendor, but I've bought plenty of dry goods from them and have bought livestock from their retail store in PA, and they are very well-respected. Their shipping rates are only $29.99 for next day. Seems like they have a pretty good selection.

I've been dealing with DR. Foster & Smith way back in seventies when they were Pet Warehouse. I baughr a nano coral and mushroom pack . Has a few polyps that died and they gave me refund or credid on everything. i complained that if i wanted to replace the stock that died i would have to pay to ship a coral thats worth only lets say $12.00 part of the package and it took a couple of complaints but they refunded 1/2 the shipping cost. I'm working on getting them to change this policy . If they replace a coral lets say a $ 30.00 purchase i shoulden't have to pay to ship the replacement. They say 14 day money back quarentee kind of decieving this only counts for stock not money paid for shipping. But i got to say there one of the best I've dealt with . I've had a few problems with this and that and I do a lot of buisness with them.

Just got my first order from Live Aquaria today could not be happier. When I figured the cost of shipping and what they charge at Local Stores it comes to be the roughly the same however the guarantee is better with online. Also your time waiting for fish at lfs and driving to them to pick them up. All and all I feel much better with mailorder.

I purchase from them often ( more often then my bank account would like ) and I have had great experiences.
My 29 was filled up with their live rock and very pleased with it. And 80% of the live rock in my 58 was from them too, it was some of the best live rock that I have seen in many many years. The amount of life on it was great, many feather dusters and a few encrusting SPS. As for Fed Ex, in my area M-F is by 10, and Saturday ( which I normally use so I don't have to miss work ) is almost always here by 9. I think my Saturday delivery time has a lot to do with the driver. He knows me well enough ( from all my orders ) that he makes me one of his first stops. Heck in the winter time he will come to my door sweating because he has the heat on so high -- keeps the back of the truck at a decent temp.

with price of gas and I hate to say this but the prices at LFS mail order is the way to go. Just read here and it's easy to see who you want to do buisness with.

Have ordered a number of times from Liveaquaria with very good experience each time.
I have a Fedex/Kinkos staffed location very close to me so always have the shipment held there. Hold for pick up boxes are usually available for pick up by 8:30. The fish don't get jostled around so much or exposed to temperature swings by riding around in the truck and I can have the fish unpacked and acclimated by the time the Fedex truck normally makes it to my street.
