New tank.
I don't know if you consider this large or not. But I am starting a 75 gallon. I need alot of help as this will be my first set up of a reef tank.
I bought a 75 gallon rimless tank, with built in over flow that does 1,500gph. It has 2 1/2 inch bulk heads. Also I have some HUGE protein skimmer, I dont know what brand it is or anything about it ? Im really not wanting to spend more than $1,000 for all the equpiment and livestock. Also I don't want 75 lbs of live rock, I only want maybe 20lbs. I don't like the look of a crowed tank. What kind of filtration system should I use ? The tank dimensions are 48x18x21 can you guys please help me !?!!?!? |

I don't think I would try to keep a system without the appropriate amount of liverock. It would be too much trouble to maintain. You might consider adding a sump/fuge that would accommodate 50 or 75lbs of liverock so that you don't need it all in your display tank.
