Recommendation for a new set up

Hello all, I am new to this website and would like feedback/advice/suggestions on a new set up I have planned.

I am fairly new to this hobby, about 2 years. I have a 65 gallon salt tank in my office which I maintain myself. It consists of liverock, soft corals, fish, snails and hermit crabs and is doing quite well.

So here is where I would like help. My wife and will be starting construction on a new home this year. My local fish store has a 380 gallon used tank that I plan on purchasing. I plan on placing it in the wall between the office and the greatroom. I also planned on placing all of the equipment (pumps/sump etc) in the basement. There are no rooms above the office and greatroom so I was thinking about some type of ventalation into the attic for the lighting.

I would like to venture into SPS but I would like feedback as to what equipment I should use to set the tank up with as well as any other helpful hints/thoughts that will make the set up easier and better.

I look forward to your responses.

Joe

Hi Joe,
Sounds like quite the project.
IMO the large reef tank forum would be a good place to see the different ways people have done large setups, as well as a great place to get your questions answered.

Hope this helps,
