possible tank problems
I am getting ready to install hardwood floors which includes sanding and finishing the wood. What problems if any could result with my tank when I do this and what precautions should I take?

oh wow, I would deffinately recomend taking some precautions. when you sand down your floors, all the dust and crap could deffinately cause problems with your tank, and the fumes from the new finish can also be harmfull. I remember melev talking about how his skimmer took out way more skimmate than usual when he painted his house, luckely he didn't loose any inhabitants. I would recomend using some plastic sheeting and some duct tape to make an air tight tent over your tank to keep the dust and fumes out, and then use some ventilation tube (i think you can get it for pretty cheap) and some little fans to vent fresh air in from outside. good luck! would love to see some pics.
