250w MH bulb choice help
Hello-
wondering if you could help me make a decision on replacement bulbs. I have a 150 gallon SPS dominated tank. It is 1.5 years old and the time has come for new bulbs. Lighting is currently 3 x 250w MH , they are all 14k Hamiltons. Since i dont run any actinic supplement, i want a fairly whitish/blue color. I am pleased with the color on the hamilton, but would love more growth if anyone knows of a better compromise?? if not, i will get new hamiltons as the tank has matured nicely, but we are always looking for better right?? Thanks |

for what it's worth I run Reeflux 12K bulbs, I don't have any experience with Hamiltons so I can't speak to growth comparison but I am very happy with my 12K's with no atinic suppimentation. Very whitish/blue color.

Check into the Aquaconnnect 14K, great color, great growth due to great PAR.
