Depends...did he ever use copper in it, and if so, do you plan to use it as a reef tank? If that's the case, it's worth nothing to you, because any inverts you put in the tank would almost certainly die shortly thereafter.

Is it glass or acrylic? What condition is it in? Does it come with any extra stuff?

Basically it comes down to this; What are YOU willing to pay for it?

even if he did use copper it wouldn't matter. That's a urban legend.

Ask Randy if you need a better explanation or tips on how to remove any small traces that may be left.

When I was looking for a used 220 I found multiple ones for around $400. New I found them for $800+. Depends on maker and if they are drilled or not.

The resale on aquariums is terrible... 300-400 sounds right

I set up a 215g Oceanic a few months ago; the tank weighed about 495 lbs empty. Suction cups would have made things a THOUSAND times easier.

I paid $350 for the tank (no stand), which was used for about two years max prior to my use. I think I got a pretty good deal out of it. I made a stand for it, and saved a few hundred vs. having to purchase one from Oceanic.

I think resale on tanks is pretty bad because most people are pressed for time and understand that taking one with you is quite a huge undertaking. Easier just to liquidate all at once.

make sure the tank is pressure tested. Many tanks that have reptiles in them are not pressure rated.
