DOES METAL HURT a TANK?

I made a make shift FEEDING SKEWER for my fish, it's a wooden chopstick that is rubber banded to a little sharp metallic toothpick.

Is the rubber band to hurt my tank? Or is the steel/metal going to hurt anything? Just being anal but also curious

Thanks

As long as the metal isn't copper it'll be just fine. Be sure not to leave it in overnight or anything like that. There are quite a few metal parts in a saltwater system actually, such as many pump shafts, algae scrapers, etc. As long as its stainless or some other metal that doesn't rust, its fine to be in there. And even if it is a metal that does rust, as long as its not in there for a long time and allowed to rust in the tank it will just fine.
