I've posted this before .

Ive had my RO/DI a year in august have made about 308 gallind of RO/DI water . TDS in is 0 out is 0 . pressure out of carbon is 70 lbs . i see no reason to change the filter cartriges till TDS raises out and pressure drops about 5 lbs. Am I out to lunch here on this issue ?

the biggest reason to change your filters (the carbon and sediment) is due to bacteria increasing on them. and for 5.00 for new filters to save the membrane later on I don't see why you wouldn't want to

34.00 for carbon and sediment filters? I would find a new place to buy from lol.

you don't need to change your membrane or DI filters, those you only change when TDS rises.

The word on the street is you should change carbon and sediment filters about every 6 months or when it is depleted which ever comes first. The RO membrane will last much longer and you will address bacterial issues by changing them.
I also think $34 seems a bit pricey.

$34 is a bit too high. But changing them is a cheap option to protect your more expensive filters even at that price.

Hhhhmmmm........Bottom line is. Ya...rule of thumb ( NOT SURE WHOS THUMB )....6 months & the filters should be replaced. BUT......AND ITS A BIG BUTT. It all depends on the number of gallons that have filtered through the RO/DI filters. AND when & how often the filters were used.........HOWEVER. It all comes down to this......If the RO/DI water has a TDS reading of 0.0.....Its all good.

If you see an increase of TDS to 0.12 or so.......Keep an eye on the TDS raise......thats your clue to replaceing the filters.,

Its not rocket sience..... OUT Water of 0.0 TDS.....IS 0.0 TDS

The filters are not playing a joke on you
