How do I hook up this float valve?
I got no instructions with it and I am not really sure what I have to do, which tubing goes in it from my ro unit? Does a tubing go in it from my RO unit? Again, I am lost with this thing and I greatly appreciate any comments and suggestions. Picture demonstration will be great
Thanks, -Mike C. |

Mike, not sure what type of float or RO/DI unit you have? Generally speaking the float valve should be mounted in some kind of container or vessel in which would intend to keep/store your RO/DI water. The float should be mounted near the top inside the vessel. Your RO/DI unit should have a 1/4'' tube (usually blue) which dispenses the "clean" RO/DI'd water. That tube should be connected to the rear end of the float valve unit via a plastic "nut" . In theory when your vessel is full the water the float valve will "pinch off" stop the flow of water. Sorry, I have no picture of my float valve. But, I attached a photo of my container and RO/DI set up. Good Luck

A picture or description of your float valve and RO/DI unit would help. Float valves work in conjunction with an ASOV or auto shutoff valve so when the float is in the upper or full position the ASOV shuts off both the good and waste flows from the RO unit. Do you have an ASOV also? A float valve only has one 1/4" line going to it which is fed from the product or good water outlet of the RO/DI system.

Tuff to see but I would guess red is waste water to the drain.
Blue is your finished water that goes to the float and black is your supply line if that flow arrow is pointing toward the R/O unit. If not then I have the blue and black reversed. |

Oliver, thanks for the response.
Yes, you are correct, black is the waste, blue is the finished water and red is the supply line. Thing I don't get is that if the blue goes in the float valve, how is the water making it into the container? I don't see a hole for the water to drain into the water tank. Thanks again, -Mike C. |

I can't really see but the supply usually goes in to one of the canisters and the waste comes out of the membrane. so if the red is coming off of the membrane that's your waste line. |

Follow Jims diagram. The black is waste, note the flow restrictor in the line. red is tap water in and blue is product or good water.
