I have a wooden canopy over my tank and light fixture so I use two fans on top of the canopy to draw out heat. I use a cheap walmart desk fan to keep circulation going out of the fish room

Cheap Walmart fans for me too. I bought 4 of them for $6 each. I put three of them on my display and one on my electrical cabinet to keep the ballasts an controllers cool.

I have 4 80mm PC fans mounted on the sides of my canopy. I am running them with 7.5v (as opposed to 12v which is normal for PC fans) to keep the noise down. For lights, I have 2x250w MH pendants and 2x54w T5s.

Here in the Dallas-area, with high temps in the upper 90s F (supposed to break 100F today), and with my house thermostat set to 78F, my water temp goes from 78 to 80 without a chiller. I run my fans 24x7, and not just when the lights are on.

I'm using a full size room fan from target. I'm guessing it is 24 inches or something? I have a hanging fixture with mh's and t5's so my water surface must deal with a lot of heat. So the fan is against the wall blowing along the length of the tank. The tank can easily climb 7 degrees during the day without it (guess how I know). This has worked better for me than a fan in the sump, although I have tried that before as well.

Same here.

On my 58 I have one over the sump, and one clipped onto the tank.

The 29 has one over the sump.

The 75 has two over the sump and one on the wall behind the tank ( level with it ) blowing across.

Here is the one on my 58. (( there isn't enough room b/t the tank and the lights for it to fall in ))
