What am I doing wrong????????
This is my tank.
Its had water LR in it for about a year now. Lights fish and coral for about 8 months. Everything has gone well, except for this ever growing algae/bacteria problem that has slowly gotten worse. I have good flow (2 Koralia 3's). I do water changes frequently(I might miss a week here or there but not often). I figured the "stuff" would just go away but recently it has been clinging to some coral and is becoming a pain. It looks like this. |

To paraphrase Sk8r's comments on algae - "If you got algae, then you have phosphates". Moot point to test for it.
Have you changed your food lately? Some food, especially flakes, are known to contain high elements of phosphates. |

I do use RO/DI. Phosphates come up 0 but we all know they're definitely there. Thats why I bought a Phosban reactor.

I agree, Get yourself a good Phosphate media reactor. Then put some good phosphate removing media in there. I have a feeling that will turn things in your favor.
Nice tank by the way |

Switch to frozen food and rinse really well before putting it in tank. It's not algae, it's cyano. Also, have you messed with your sand bed recently? That can also cause an outbreak.
