Auto Top off question
I'm trying to move RO/DI from a Brute to the sump.
The Brute is on the same floor (basement) about 25' away. I will need to run the lines through the ceiling. Do I have relatively simple options? |

any pump that can get the water there will work... define simple though, you could possibly work out some sort of gravity syphon thing on a float valve.
JBJ would be a fit more foolproof, but the sensors wont reach anywhere near 25', so no pump protection from running dry. and you'd need to run a power line with the pipe to get over to the pump.

How do I run the pump so it turns on and turns off?

I use a product call a ATO to move my top-off water from my garage to my tank about 15' away. http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewIt...matic_Top_Off_(A.T.O.)_System_Water_Level_Controller_Saltwater_Aquarium_Supplies_Dosing_Pumps_Top_Off_Electric_Pow ered_Plug_in_Units~vendor~.html Last edited by mfinn; 07/12/2008 at 08:59 AM. |

Look into Autotopoff.com, their double switches are great! All you need after that is a pump and some tubing. The double switch controller has a relay built in that calls for water and turns the pump on. Then when it gets to the desired height, it will shut the pump off.
Just makes sure you clean whatever you get regularly so it continues to function properly. Brad |

There are a few really good products that you can get, the challenge will be modifying them for the length that you need to handle. I use the Tunze one but my RO/DI rubbermaid is right next to my sump.
