70 watt sunpod on a 30gal cube
well the LFS gave me a hell of a deal on it. 4mo. old on one of their display tanks for 100bucks couldt pass it up. really wanted the 150 but what the hell. ive got it all installed and the color is a dramatic differance over my 96w. pc lights. but my question is this. about how long should i run it for each day at first. my pcs would come on at 7:30am and id turn them off at around 7:30 to 8pm i wasnt using a timer so those are roundabout figures. as of now i still dont have a timer...i will by next weekend. so i can run around the same hours or i can cut it way back and turn it on at 5:30pm and off later that night around 10 or so tell me what i should do

I would say to try around 8 hours total time. I run my halides from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and I run just the actinics from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Hope this helps.

my next question would be this...how difficult would it be to get a 150w electronic ballast and switch them out...then i could run 150w in the same fixture correct.

A 150w bulb is longer than a 70w so i dought it would work. My buddy and i figured this out the hard way making diy halides. I am also goin to run my halide for 8hrs.
