Plastic covering on PC glass

Tell me I was supposed to take the glass out of my lighting fixture and peel off the plastic?

It's white on the bottom of the glass (by the water) and clear on top.

Help!!

Yes peel it off now. Once it cooks on and yellows its almost impossible to get off of acrylic lens covers. Don't ask me how I know this as I will deny it !
