Will This Work

I HAVE A 100 GL salt water reef system its been up and running about 2 years with mostly succes a few casualties along the way but hey its trial and error my question is i have 8 power compacts on the tank split half and half should upgrade and how do u know when the lights arent working any more one has already gone should i just replace them all??

If by 'upgrade' you mean 'how do I know when it's time to replace my bulbs', you should do it every year, well before they stop working.

I have PC's on my 45 and I like to replace them every 6-9 months. But that is just personal preference. If you can upgrade, I would do so. You will see significantly positive results if you went to a T5 setup. And for all the money you will spend to replace 8 bulbs, it might be worth your while to shell out a little more $$ and get a T5 kit or complete setup.
