what kelvin...

so from reading on this forum the way i understand it is the lower the kelvin rating the whiter/yellower the tank will start to look...but the faster sps corals grow. and the higher the kelvin rating, the bluer the tank looks and the brighter the colors come out but the slower the sps grow...is that correct?? ive been posting alot on the odyssea metal halide thread because thats what fixture i have...and recently i changed out the ballasts for icecap 250w ones but have yet to change the bulbs themselves...there was definatly a difference in amount of light output but i have started to notice that the colors on my sps are fadeing which makes me wonder if the original odyssea 14k bulbs are really closer to like 10k and if i should buy new bulbs like the phoenix 14k and maybe the color in my sps will start comming out again...any suggestions??
