Which One ? ? ?
Hi Ive been reefing for about 2 years now and finnaly got a larger tank 75Gallon and so far everything is running fine and i got ever thing i need except the most confusing compent the DAM Lights I plan on keeping Mainly Soft Corals ZOO's Atlantic/Pacific Anemones and Some LPS and my debate has been Should i go with 4-110W Vhos Or 2 Metal Halide lamps then that boils down to 150HQI or 250HQI As of right now i just have an old outdated Mogul 175w running on a magnetic ballast. Any Ideas THanks

ok, slightly confused, is it between vho or MH?
Well, since you are not going with SPS, the MH might seem like overkill for softies except fr the anemones... which might benefit form the extra light. If you go with 2 150w MH then total wattage would be lower than the VHO, but the dual 250w MH would be the greatest energy sucker. I say the 150w MH are enough for what you want keep and use 140 watts less than the vho... but I dont know what the heat tradeoff would be. Hope this helped. |

Go with T5s. They're Great. lol. You can't go wrong with either a Tek 4,6 or Aquactinics TX5. Then you'd be able to keep almost anything in your 75.

Does Individual reflectors play a huge difference in light output compared to one large reflector over several bulbs ?

Individual reflectors will make the most out of the light coming from the bulb. I would never run T5s without individual reflectors.

neither...they both dont have true " Individual" reflectors. The pro has one contured reflector bent around each bulb. Look into the Tek fixture, aquatinics, ATI, and retro fit kits for all of the above
