algea

I have a thick hair like algea growing in my sand and on my rocks, and i also have a thick red slimy algea forming on everything as well. Does anyone know what type of algea this is and how or what can i do to get rid of it?

pics would help.

But it's likely due to many factors. Over feeding? not enough clean up crew members? water quality (phosphates, nitrates), lighting, length of time tank has been set up, etc.

Need more info to help you out.
