So im putting my fish back in after an ich outbreak?

Alright,

I had a small ich sighting on one of my clowns after I brought some SPS corals in from a tank that had ICH.

I put 10 gallons of system water into my QT with some cured base rock from the same tank. Then I effortlessly transferred my clowns and blenny into my QT and now its 5+ weeks later.

SO, Here is the main question. I had my fish in the tank for more than a month (each one put in 10 days after the other) before the QT time. Now its time to put them back in the DT.

Should I just put the fish back in after proper acclimation? (all three)

OR

Should I wait the same 10 day period and add each fish slowly?

Thoughts?

I would just put them all back at once, but I'm sure others will say not to.

To acclimate them I would just do a five gallon wc, and add the displays water to the hospital tank.

Nope, the clock starts AFTER the last fish was put in QT. Did you treat them for ich in the QT or just observe them? If you treated with hypo it would be 4-6 weeks AFTER the last spot of ich was seen on any of the fish. The last fish you put in QT could very well have infected the other fish in there already.

put them all back in the display at the same time is fine. did you treat with copper in QT? if so you killed the live rock, and i would NOT put it back in the display.

like freed said make sure you do at least 6 weeks from the time the last fish was put in. you arent doing the 6 weeks for the ich on the fish, that is gone after a couple weeks, but the display takes longer.

Like said above I would wait at least 6 weeks, and the clock does not start until the last fish is out.

well the ich in the display was what I was concerned with. The spots of ich on the clowns were gone within 2 days. So they have been without spots for the past 5+ weeks (its two days before 6 weeks)....I just wont have the time to do it this weekend so im doing it now.

I did not treat them with any copper. There were only a total of 5 spots on the fish.

Ive done almost 2 dozen bastings of the rocks and such and 6 weeks of no fish in the main DT. Thats why Im getting ready to put them back in the tank.

I was only wondering if my bacteria army could handle the 3 fish again.

Sounds more solid now?

If you didn't treat them with hypo or copper then the ich could very well still be in their gills unseen, where it does the most damage anyway.

I treated with hypo but is it really necessary?

Yes or all you did was put them in another tank with ich that is still alive, no?

yes, copper and hypo are the ONLY proven ways to get rid of ich. you ..may.. have killed it just by letting them fight it off, and you may not have.

how old is your tank? if it is mature, at least 6 mo, you are fine. i put about 8 fish back in my display at one time.

my tank is a little over 3 months old.

I put them in a different tank that was bare. A standard QT. I did water changes and such.
