The shopping list doesn't included stuff like water additives, test kits, nets. Can I have any recommendations on what I will need? I already know I will need reefsalt, hydrometer, testkit, thermometer.

I already have a 15 gallon tank that I'm using as the sump for the main 30 gallon. And I plan to have the heater, protein skimmer, and maybe an additional 55 gallon powerfilter in the sump.

Can anyone give me thoughts about my lighting choice.

Has anyone bought "The Package" from TB Saltwater before. Since my total water capacity including main and sump is 45 gallons (30 + 15) should I get the larger "Package", maybe 40 gallon package to account for the protein skimmer in my 15 gallon tank.

In the maturation period of my aquarium where I just have liverock, snails, hermit crabs, and the other contents of "the package" running around in my tank, what do I feed the tank. Btw does it look really weird have 30+ snails in a tank? Do they crawl all over the glass or just hang out around the liverock?

And supposing I get a gorilla crab or mantis shrimp shipped with my liverock, will it live if I just toss it in the liverock compartment of my sump?

Maybe go to a 20 gal tank for your sump if you can, bigger is better.
