A solid stand would be a good start.

Ya do not get a cheapo stand to get it set up quick. Make sure you put it in a spot you wont regret with outlet access and get a stand that can accomadate a sump and possibly other equiptment. Patience is a huge thing in this hobby and the sooner you realise that...the sooner you will have a gorgeous tank.

Read the * posts at the top of this forum: long, but full of detail on specifics you will need, and what you will need to do.
And you do not need a canopy or filter for a modern marine tank.

Hi,
You might want to go to the ORCA club in the Reef Club Forums. This will give you access to people in your proximity and if you are looking to purchase some of the larger items like a stand for your tank, you can see if any are available near you. You can also find information about joining the club in your area where you can meet others interested in the hobby. Best of luck, Toni |

when you buy the tank stand keep in mind for a future sump.
Many stands have a center post which prevents large sumps fitting underneath |

Another way to get a good strong stand is to build one yourself. Rocket Engineer's thread has a pretty simple how to thats worth looking into.
