Err, blueline 14k too blue, ushio 14k to yellow...what now?

So Ive been running a blueline 14k, and it was way to blue(but tolerable with some 10k t5's running)...like bluer then the xm 20k it replaced.

So I decided to go with the ushio/blv 14k. and its like a xm10k with more yellow

So needless to say I will be replacing this right away, and im done messing around on sanjay's site.

Can someone recommend me a bulb with a good even amount of blue and alot of output for a 400w se on a magnetic balast?

How long have you been running the Ushio 14K? I found it very yellow right off the bat, for ~2 weeks. Then, it burned in quite nicely - nice white, little bit of blue. Good overall color and great response form my tank. Maybe give it a little time?

i had the ushio 14k 400 watt on a pulse start ballast(what ushio says to use) and it was blue/white. what ballasts are you using? 400 watt correct? i dont think ushio has a 20k 250 watt yet. they have one used for landscaping and outdoor lighting i believe.

Believe it or not, I really like the Hamilton 14000k. Not too blue. Not a hint of yellow.

The same thing happened to me when I started using Iwasaki 14K 250W DE. Started out very yellow. Then, after about two weeks it burned in to a beautiful white with a little blue.
