Kalkwasser Dosing Question

I am just starting the use kalkwasser, with the main goal to bring up the ph in the tank. Which stays at about 7.8, most likely because of the use of a calcium reactor.

I first had the kalkwasser dripping into the section of the sump which just returns water to the tank and has basically no water movement. I returned the following day to see a build up of white "stuff" on the surcace where it had been dripping. So, I then started dripping to a high flow area of the sump.

My question is, where the kalkwasser is dripping, is right by my skimmer, so is the kalkwasser just being skimmed right away?

Also, do you feel that kalkwasser is the right solution to bring up your ph when using a calcium reactor. I should also mention that my alkalinity is oddly sky high!

I don't think you have to worry about skimming away the kalk.
you may just want to drip slower I was noticing buildup on my float when I was just dripping manually. But I have since hooked up a dosing pump and a Kalk Stirrer and since it's being added even slower I haven't noticed any more buildup in the sump.
I drip directly into my filter sock.

It's funny you mention the alk.
I've been going through something with my test kits.
I picked up an elos test kit recently that's reading 15dkh so I was worried but I tried 3 other kits. Sera 10dkh, seachem 9dkh and redsea normal.
Still haven't decided which is correct but I'm leaning toward my brand new elos being wrong.
